Antique Early Wooden Mortar and Pestle, Oyster Paint, C 1820-1840's. Displays 3 Recessed Bands that Surround Body and 2 Recessed Bands that Appear on Footed Base. Full Bodied Form, larger Size. Surface still has traces of Oyster paint remaining and top rim shows much Oyster Paint in comparison, wonderful look, no cracks, no chips. Pestle has a mushroom designed top, easy to hold when crushing spices, few thin slits from years of use. Measures 8" tall x 6" across top. pestle Pestle measures 11" tall.
